Basically a pretty good article however but I do take exception to his statement that "There's no doubt that porting decreases recoil". There's actually a lot of doubt that shotgun porting reduces recoil and it's science based... not the science that our prime minister subscribes to but real science.
 
The part of recoil that kicks your muzzle upwards and loses you your sight picture can be more of a problem for that other clay than the main backward kick. Having holes in the upper front of the barrel can be helpful for keeping the barrel down.
 
That's why browning barrels look like swiss cheese.

If any browning owners find their gun missing from their safe, chances are its out moonlighting for cirque du soleil...
