Bass Pro has the 870 Express 21" W/ turkey camo on for $369.99 and comes with a $50 mail in rebate.
The 870 super mag 23" Tactical stock, speed feed and full turkey camo is on for $569 and comes with an $80 mail in rebate.

Update! The Mossberg 590, because of the sliding tang safety, is now out of the race.

Looks like it's going to be a battle between the Benelli M4 Super 90, the Benelli Nova, and the Remington 870, then... and that said I suppose the deciding factors are going to be shootability and fit and finish, and of course, how much I want to get a pistol. :D

The Nova has a nice sort of black-gun look to it - is there any way to get the magazine unplugged and extended to allow more shells? That magazine tube looks awfully short for a pump gun...

HP91 Norc. The Remington Express wont take any of the tactical accesories. The Nova is nice but has alot of recoil, maybe nicer with Mercury Plug. Also theres Super Nova, with pistol grip.

The Maverick works, but I think its a low end POS. Try them out.

Yup the plug comes out plus you can buy an extended mag for it. The extended mag is only a plus one. I guess it depends what your shooting. 2 3/4-3-or 3 1/2

If I had the money I would go with the Benelli, reduced recoil, and they'll eat any load, maybe unless you have some less than lethal ammo you plan to use.
But lets not forget the 870. With the money your talking about you can dress it up for any occasion.

Here's me testing it on the weekend to check out the patterns with different chokes. This is just a small 3 shotvid as we were using the phone cam I'll download the paper pattern pics tonight. http://youtube.com/watch?v=ziNQqoReSf0

And here's the extrema II my buddy bought the same day. (this sat) http://youtube.com/watch?v=F_3MULoWsGI
If you have the $ get the extrema II in camo. GREAT gun!!!
Accuracy Plus in peterborough will work you an amazing deal i'm sure no one can beat on that one!
Charlie
Ps. notice how fast my buddy gets back on target compared to me with the pump.

Have you you held any of them yet?

When I was shopping around for a shotgun I noticed that the Nova didn't fit me so well because the pump was to far ahead to grasp comfortably. Just an example but you should definitely hold them before you commit to one on the advice of board members. Personally, I'd liked the fit of the Winchester 1300 Defender the best out of the shotguns they had available.

You could always check out the Win1300 Coastal Marine if you want a bit of extra bling-bling. :p

With the extra money in your budget you could buy some barrels and have an all-purpose shotgun.
