Why? Too busy getting into reloading, casting and putting my money, time and effort into my project gun.
Sorry...no pic... However I bought a 'supergrade' SKS from Wholesale Sports here in Calgary a couple of years ago. The display piece they had on their shelf looked quite good, but the one they sold me was still in its plastic wrapper. When I took it out.... [drumroll of anticipation...]... it was practically flawless. Wood, bluing and chrome looked great...no nicks, scratches or noticeable wear of any kind. No rust...still nice and greasy inside and out, in its sealed wrapper and box. I had to look hard to find the refurb stamp on the stock...for a while I wondered if it was an unissued, but it turned out that the year and armoury was wrong for that [black bayonet too...didn't know that it's an exclusive refurb feature at the time.
Any SKS advertised as a 'supergrade; should look darned near new, IMO. Anything else would be a rip-off.

Its a real piss off when you don't get as it was specified in the add. I once bought a Chinese SKS off a site sponsor here that advertised the rifles as military rifles all having 五六式 56 style on all the rifles. Only one in stock! However, the rifle I got not only didn't have the Chinese characters, It was also a rifle for the commercial market not a military one. I went back to their website to check again what their advertisement said so I could use it against them, but they had removed their page for Chinese SKS. I never took it up with the site sponsor. I never even complained about it here on CGN. I leave the site sponsors name out because I don't have proof of this scam. Now when ever I order something from a site sponsor, I take a screen shot of what the add is. That way if its removed, I got a picture of what it said.

It seems we were all misled by the same person. In my case it was a woefully mis-described Enfield No. 4. I too kept quiet; not wanting to Mar the reputation of one of the Stars of this forum, lest I suffer from his infamous sarcasm.
At cabelas you ask for super grade and they hand you a beater refurb and ask you to pay 300$ lol. I think "super grade" is thrown around lightly.
Super grades imo is blued, Non refurb, with a properly finished stock and all matching STAMPED not forced matched numbers.

So I'm one of the guys who have never bought an sks... Yeah, many other guns of all kinds but never took the plunge. I guess my main reason was I shoot my "keepers" as little ad possible and shoot my hunting firearms as much as possible. An sks always seemed, although cheap, the ammo would take away from other shooting and projects. That said...
With all of the comparisons of the condition of a purchased sks... Chrome lined seems like the only real sticking point.. And they all shoot the same?.. Reliable as heck.. Am I wrong? If you want a shooter, you just buy one?

The OP was disappointed in the "supergrade" sks before creating this thread. The supplier is correcting the problem and will send him what they advertised. It is believable that they had no intent to rip him off, and their supplier let them down. So why start a thread to rub their noses in it?

We bought 2 chinese sks for $100 a few years back.
Used them for beaver control when their dam building was reeking havoc on our farm.
The ones we didn't shoot moved on.
The sks rifles were barely accurate enough to hit beaver at 20 - 30 yards.
Nothing but cheap quality noise makers.
Sold them after the problem beavers were gone.
You could buy 7.62x39 ammo dirt cheap back then.
Used them for beaver control when their dam building was reeking havoc on our farm.

If you think about it, if I kept quiet they may have sold more rifles in the same shape as mine. Meaning they would have to handle more unhappy customer, process more returns and pay more shipping.
An early notice, I think is very helpful.

I'm with Warren et al...
I don't know about others but would cost me almost the price of the gun in time and wear and tear on my mind and body to get everything straightened out and the gun sent back and the right one returned. So can't blame the op for posting his problem. To many so called dealers seem to see just how far they can push the envelope and get away with it.
As to a inaccurate SKS never had that problem. Mine shoots just fine. Wouldn't hesitate to use it for deer hunting.

I got mine in, It was covered in spray paint to hide where the blueing was missing. lol. Cleaned it up with methal hydrate so I know it was paint and not armory done. think they sprayed it at the shop, Pretty much a sin since it was a blued sks with everything matching but the mag. Then I had to clean silver spray paint off the danm sling. Anyways, I got it cleaned up.
If they read this, I hope they stop spray bombing sks's at the shop. No one wants this and its crap. No one cares if bluing is missing and any blued sks should be left as is.
