I'm thinking of doing up some DA Cougars with jumbo safeties, sling mounts, +1 extensions, followers and saddles as wel as some 870's with the same...that or some ones with the Bobcat forstock. What do you guys (and gals)

Ryan

I think there is a market for massaged 870's from a great dealer. S&J should make up some custom Tactical Remington Express and better models with goddies already installed
at good prices. throwin a slicked up action too.
we need a Canadian version of Wilson combat and nighthawk type shotties.

you good even make a ZOMBIE version They would sell, COMBAT Version etc.. put some kick ass names on them and watch them sell.
Lots of people pay for the name. Tactical shotties are a hobbie for lots of people no real need for them but fun as hell.
All I ask is a free one for the great idea's ;)

Do you want the option of the ATI AR adjustable stock or an AR stock mounted to a high end stock adaptor?

you could do a build a bear type deal but with a shotgun. start with a basic 870 of choice Rem,Norc,Da etc. and have a few basic mods on it. Then have a kinds of parts and let the customer pick and choose what they would like. you assemble it and massage it and then ship out thier own custom shotgun. of course you would have to have you name on the reciever.

after building a few custom shotty's it would be nice to be able to get everything I need from one source done to my specs and save a few bucks at the same time.

I half agree with Nisser... My suggestion would be this: Offer a "standard" model like you suggested above, giving the option between the Remington/DA. I suspect if they're well-built with decent components and priced reasonably (I'm sure you're well familiar with this), you'll have no trouble selling them.

However, for those of us who want something different, the "Build-A-Bear" concept suggested by Nisser is great, although I'd like to propose an amendment: To keep costs down, offer only a single receiver (like a Remington 870 Police Magnum or something) that's had the action cleaned up, with a few "basic" additions (jumbo safety, drilled and tapped, Duracoated/parkerized). That way, you don't have to work a new receiver every time someone orders a shotgun, but can just grab a pre-made one off the shelf... quicker turnaround and (hopefully) lower cost to the buyer. Then, offer some barrel and stock options, a few sights and rails, slings and mounts, chokes/door breachers, and shell-holders. I suspect you have most of this stuff kicking around anyway, and by limiting yourself to a single receiver you won't have to fiddle around with what works and what doesn't every time someone makes an order.

These are some of the ones I'm looking at now. They will be built on a Remington 870 or Norinco NP1 with 18.5" barrel, 14" Norinco Barrel, or 12.5" DA barrel. Other sizes if available.

They can be built with the S&J, NEA or ATI stock adapter. Options will include sling mounts, followers, bayonet clamps, extensions, etc. I'll probably be able to offer barrel and chamber polishing.

The semi cougar with +2 extension, S&J Follower, S&J Jumbo Safety, ATI Stock (or better a knoxx recoil reducing one), pistol grip forend (or railed forend with a pistol grip on it). Slick.

would definitely be interested in something like that.. having trouble getting my hands on a DA grizzly, but something with a few mods in place already would be nice!
