The extended mag release is a great design upgrade. I had one in the last and I bought the 64FSS yesterday and it has just the regular nub, hopefully this part is available for upgrade on its own!

Do these have the plastic cap on the back of the receiver or are they the all metal design?

I use one of these as a course gun. That mag release is craparoonie.

The upgraded one with the tail on it, a long-overdue fix, is available from Western Gun Parts in Edmonton for fifty bucks. It includes the magwell, which makes the swap substantially easier as you're not fighting wee awkward springs and the like.
