Hi All,

Just a quick note to show off the PR Precision Buttstock Adapter which allows you to mount the Magpul Zhukov (Yugo) Folding/Retractable Buttstock to both the classic and current production runs of FAMAE SG-series Rifles and Carbines. These adapters are machined out of a block of billet aluminum with lines and angles to match or complement the rifle's Receiver contours. The Adapters come uncoated, so you will have to paint or CeraKote according to your wishes. The machining is top-notch, as is the final finsh-tumbling. The fit of the Adapter to the rifle and to the Zhukov Stock is consistently excellent, with the stock folding away from the ejection path and extending in a straight line from the rear of the rifle/carbine.

PR Precisioni is a CGN Business Account run by "PR Cook". He specializes in "one of" projects for obsolete firearms, but is adept with his tools and capable of taking on just about any sort of custom machining project. He charges $150 for the FAMAE/Zhukov Buttstock Adapter.

Looking good man, I picked up some cheek risers from brownells for my stock. Down the road I might get the adapter & stock matched to the tan rifle.

So did you get the adapter cerakoted?
And what is the scope & mount set up?

I have a Cheek-Riser inbound from a Canadian vendor, as the "chin-weld" is a bit of a stretch with my optics set-up. The optic is a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x SFP in a Vortex non-QD mount - a very basic but "good enough" set-up that costs less than $1K. I cerakoted the Adapter myself, but it came out too flat. I may give it another go with a higher ratio of hardener for a semi-gloss finish. Likewise the Buttstock, which is not quite the right shade of Olive Drab. I have another can of Olive spray paint inbound, so may give that a try when it shows up. Then a shot of satin clear-coat protective finish over top of everything. Easy-peasey!

These adaptors and the Zhukov stock are an excellent upgrade for the SG54X-1M rifles.

I'm curious as to which cerakote colour you used. I coated my adaptor with E-100T and it came out a bit too shiny to match my rifle.

I used H190 "Armor Black", which is admittedly Cerakote's flattest Black colour. I think that E-100 "Blackout" might be the best option to match the Famae finish, which is most likely some sort of solvent-resistant enamel. The "Egg-Shell" finish of that Cerakote colour ought to be a good texture match as well...

You need to try again with less "Hardener" added to the Black mix. The more hardener, the more reflective/shiiny the finish becomes when baked.

The Zhukov stock is a really nice underrated stock, I put one on my USC45 conversion and it looks more in-line with the rifle than the actual UMP45 stock. (took a lot more work though)

I printed one out of carbon fibre reinforced nylon. Was intended as a prototype but it's working so good I didn't bother with the aluminum one. Has a simple steel plate backbone and so the plastic is just there to hold parts. It's so cheap I'll just print another one if/when it breaks.

My Cheek-Risers arrived for the Zhukov Stock modification. I ended up going with the largest, 3/4" Riser for the best eye-box alignment and eye-relief. I think that the entire set-up actually complements the SG-540 nicely and is a far superior ergonomic solution to the "chin-weld" factory tubular folder!

well some complained about the stock not holding well in the cold. but never seen anyone here complaining in the cold but passed -25c not that much are shooting ...

Browells will ship em too, just in case rdsc is out

I went with the tallest cheek riser as well, with a funky nikon 3x scope. The rifle is fine sitting/standing but doesn't give any comfortable position while prone i find. Scope would need to be lower, or an even higher cheek rest.

Shot it in service rifle a couple months ago and been chasing a setup that'd work well in that regard. Might see how the factory fixed stock feels.
