I just encountered a really strange issue with my FAMAE SG-542. The bolt catch (on the upper receiver) seems to have a spring that popped off and now the button does not work. However, the rifle still functions without it. Anyone come across this problem or have any idea how to fix it? The importer for my rifle is ERE Systems. Any way I can contact them for help? Maybe visit a gunsmith? I am pretty lost on what to do.

Edit: I just realized there's a post by CGN user 'b-wingpilot' where he mentions that the *bolt-hold open spring* breaking is a common issue on all series of the rifles. Here's a link: https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...-cool-and-you-should-own-one?highlight=SG-542

I have made a replacement spring for myself and another CGN’r who helped me with some pics. I might be able to make some more. The only problem is that they are definitely a bit weaker than the original spring.

Sounds like something that'll be much needed. If need be, I'll buy one from you. I'm currently waiting on the gunsmith at Calgary Shooting Centre to send some instructions, which means I'll be able to also tell if my spring is broken.

UPDATE: I Contacted Calgary Shooting Centre and their gunsmith sent me instructions. After a couple of tries, I got the spring seated correctly. Was way more straightforward than I would have thought. If anyone needs some help, PM me and I'll send them your way.
