SG 542: WTF is that?

Yup, it is a Manurhin. We tried to import them for NA as a relabeled 542SA. BATF was a no go as they were autos previously and even with the conversion would not allow it. I played with some in France. A very nice piece! BTW, Manurhin made just about ALL the Walther PPK, PPK/S and PP after WWII. Some were sold under Walther and others under Manurhin. I own the last two PP made in .380!

I thought the Manhurin FSA guns were factory semi autos? Lots of them were in weird non mil calibers like .222 as well.

Should be importable into canada?

In case you hadn't noticed, the rifle in question IS a Battle Rifle, perhaps this thread should have originally been posted in the Battle Rifle section, but never the less, it is a 7.62x51mm Battle rifle, Like it or lump it.

The guy was just razing you about your comment about the finish, don't take everything so personally. I actually completely agree with you for the record, the finish is horrible. But i agree with the other guy too, if you want shiny things with matching pillows, whether you are currently viewing black rifles or battle rifles, your still in the wrong place!!!:D

Are AR-15s not battle rifles? :confused: Hunh.... you're shaking my whole paradigm here... :rolleyes: I didn't know that CGN was setting the world standard for what is and isn't a battle rifle based on how they fit into 2 forums. Here I was walking around thinking the design had something to do with it. :HR:

I think the smiley shows that I didn't take it personally, but I didn't say that it wasn't a battle rifle.

I think by definition battle rifles are 308 guns... So ar-15 no, ar-10 mayhaps?
