As supplied, I was unable to load more than 8 rds into the Korean made SGM 30/10 magazine that came with my TNW 9mm carbine.

The fix was to relocate the pop rivet from witness hole #13 to hole #15. Now it accepts 10 rds and no more.

While you've got the mag part, take advantage of removing all the burrs from the witness holes and from the initial pop rivet hole.

Must have been a Friday afternoon mistake, some poor guy drilling holes and popping in rivets all day got blurry and counted wrong. I have a couple of these and they take 10 rounds just fine, dropping about 1/2 a cartridge diameter after the last round is loaded but not further. Good that you were able to fix the problem. They seem otherwise to be decent magazines.

Sorry, that's something I forgot to check when replying. Oddly, mine are pinned in the 14th hole. Seems to be just right to leave 10 round capacity. The ASR is the first thing I've had which uses a double-stack magazine, so my familiarity with how the spacing for the follower works isn't great. But it ain't broke so I ain't fixing it! I expect yours work when putting the rivet in the hole numbered 15 because of some difference in spring compression between yours and the shop where it was pinned first - you may have put slightly more preload on the spring before riveting so that more spring is bunching up, making #15 necessary instead of #14. Doesn't much matter. If there is an inspection they won't be able to get more than 10 rounds into yours or mine so there's no practical/legal difference.

The witness holes are spaced horizontally with the even numbered holes on the right as you look at the back of the mag. It couldn't matter less if you pinned #14 or #15. Stepping down one level is what allowed the 9th and 10th rds to be inserted.

I pinned #15 simply because it was directly below the original pin location at #13.

The SGM mags have metal guide lips which theoretically assures better feeding than the all polymer Mag Pull Pmags. Now that I know the fix, I may order another 30/10 SGM mag as I like the looong look.

My TNW 9mm came today. I have the same issue. Can only get 8 rounds in. I bought other identical SGM mags and they have the rivet in the lower hole so they hold 10. How do you take the mag apart? Otherwise the rifle looks nice. I only got to fondle it today, have to buy an optic before I use it.

Push into the hole in the bottom of the plate to lift the spring's plastic end cup away from it, then slide the plate in the obvious direction. HANG ON TO THE THING! That spring will throw the little plastic cup right across the room... or as happened to me when I went to clean mine, flew right out the workshop window and into the neighbour's yard, more than 25 feet away. Maybe opening it up with the cap pointed into a bundled up towel would be a good idea, or aimed inside an open jacket.

My wife taught me a trick (NOT that kind, pervert!) .... when dealing with something that might go "Sproing!", (like the little safety detent spring on a 1911), do the work inside a clear plastic bag.

I had trouble getting the SGM mag back together. I had to trim some of the plastic from the end cup as it kept moving and prevented the base pad from locking in place.

I informed G4C about the 8 rd issue with mag supplied and they did not reply. I presume that they did the pinning and not TNW.
