sh!thawks (crows)vs Remington 870 Super Mag....

Sh!thawks are crows ,seagulls are garbage ducks.....just to clear things up.

Ya, that's why I asked. Sometimes colloquialisms can get you in trouble in other regions!

In Alberta s^^t hawks are seagulls
Snow geese are sky carp
Garbage ducks = Coots
Never heard crows called much but crows!

Wayne Weibe once told me that eagles were nothing but seagulls in a tuxedo though.....lol Another Island bird lover!

Also I have never seen seagulls on a carcass.

Pretty common on the coast....they are a scavenger of epic proportions. Much like the eagle and Wayne's reference I guess!

Shiphawks

Poophawks went from zero to thousands up the Ottawa Valley in about 30 years. I have no idea why they need to be protected inland like this area where they displace local species and turn their roost islands into wastelands. They ARE however protected and we're not changing that here.

Crows and ravens are the unloved cleanup crew. Why the hell does anyone need to bother them when they're doing their job??

Cheers,

FM

Unfortunately, your beloved crows and ravens are likely far more destructive to other bird species, amphibians and even baby ungulates than seagulls. That's why crows are not protected in most areas and even ravens have come off the protected list in some areas.

Let's eat some crow

Beloved me arse, in my area they don't eat enough babies to be a real threat to anything and I don't live in a neighborhood. Sorry if I offended you guys but here they are not a problem so my opinion is that they don't bother me I don't bother them. Any issues with that?

A good buddy of mine loves picking crows off with his .17HMR and as far as I'm concerned there are enough crows to keep everyone happy!

Now, coyotes are starting to royally piss me off...

So you don't have egg laying ducks and grouse and song birds and raptors in your area?

But they're protected, and treaty rights, or Newfoundland status has nothing to do with the silt deposits on the bottom of the maligne canyon.
Twelve horseshoes were found, but no one even questioned it. and now a Snowy Owl is Dead and they didn't even look for the casings.:eek::mad:
Pisses me off. The Salmon pate that they "said" was Salmon, was actually illegal beluga, but they got away with that to. Why can't anyone catch these guys!!! Jesus they are driving in Pickup truck with Alberta Plates and they even know the first three letters on the plate!

No permit will allow you to shoot the "Queens bird" any more than you can hunt bald eagles with a pheasant license.

not true
my uncle is one of the very, very few people in this country allowed to "kill for control" almost any bird in the country. He employs Falcons and firearms and is under contract by several large firms and more than a few municipal and provincial agencies.... no foolin
