Shadow 2 extraction issues? Fixed!!

I had a similar intermittent problem with a tanfoglio. Changed extractor, spring, tried other things to no avail. I was able to narrow it down to only blazer brass that would fte. Eventually had the chamber lightly polished and haven't had a single fte since.

Thanks for the replies........

Bigi....as for the feed lips, what sort of tweeking would they need and what would the reason be for?

Thanks
When a mag hits concrete with the lips first they can bend inwards preventing smooth feeding causing FTs. Also if you suspect a mag take it apart, clean it good, NO oiling! and check spring tension against a good spring.

Shadow 2 extraction issue fixed!!

With much troubleshooting to definitively come up with the solution, after isolating mags, larger buffer, small buffer, no buffer, original recoil spring, 11 lb recoil spring, extractor spring and extractor the culprit was the extractor itself. I bought an extra power spring and with my extractor, it wouldn't even chamber a round fully. With the new extractor and extra power spring it would. This was repeatable. So there you have it, less than 3000 rounds and I have a bad extractor. I'm just happy to finally figure it out decisively. Thanks to all who gave great ideas and comments.

Glad it got resolved. I should really get around to ordering up a spare extractor and slide lock for my parts kit. :p

when you get a new slide stop, keep one for matches, and orginal for practice. I like to prematurely wear my match one in so it auto forwards like my practice one.

Good call. My current one has broken in nicely so that it auto releases when I slap a mag in during matches.
