Which holster do you prefer?

Red Hill Tactical gets my vote, been using one for IPSC/USPSA for the 3 years and have no intention of changing back to DAA or Blade tech.

If you use the code redmagnum it will get you 10% off.

Agreed Red Hill makes some good stuff! Lots of colours, and the quality is great. Also look at getting a BOSS hanger to mount the holster to the belt, if you get the BOSS hanger from Ben Stoeger Pro Shop, they have good holsters too!

Yes, the DOS ones can sometime lean out too far

This is one of the reasons I love the Ghost Thunder Holster. You don’t need to buy a separate DOS / BOSS hanger as the holster can be easily out of the box adjusted to your desired cant and distance from your body.

I have a closet full of bladetechs with DOS and other holsters and the two Ghost Thunder holsters I have is all I use these days. One is on my dedicated IPSC rig and second is on my 3 Gun belt. Only customization I have done to the holsters is to swap out the provided holster retention screws for a couple of $2 thumb screws that allow me to easily adjust the holster retention on the fly. This is handy as you can tighten the HG in the holster when you are patching, doing walk throughs through cooper tunnels in IPSC or running, climbing barricades etc in a 3G match.

Red hill tactical holsters are far better than Solely tactical holsters in every regard.

I ordered a holster from Tim and aside from the 8 week (his words in our initial email) turnaround becoming 13 weeks until I had to follow up to figure WTF was going on with my order the quality wasn't really there. It was a double layer (which you need for a heavy gun like the S2) and it was separated with a big gap between the two sheets and a completely #### buff job I had to fix myself. Quite obvious it was made by a guy who has taken more orders than he can fill and rushes the product with less than favorable results and zero attention to detail.

Red hill made me one for the same gun that came out a week earlier than estimated and was perfect. it was almost as if the guy GAF about what he was doing and wanted my business again.

Are you aware of the folly of making a sweeping generalization based on a sample size of one?

EDIT

Never mind. It's not my intention to slag someone for their products.

If I cared I would have started a thread about it but the truth is I don't. Sometimes #### happens I guess.

I can live with it.

How are the alpha x holsters running around for 3 gun? Have the guns fallen out?

Know of some clubs / MDs that won’t allow any type of race holster in their 3 Gun matches. Majority of 3G competitors i’ve seen use some form of full body holster.

IMO there is a learning curve in using a race holster and I would not recommend them to a new shooter taking their BB course.

Another vote for Red Hill Tactical. I do have a Soley Canadian drop leg rig, quality is right up there so no complaints but for IPSC I don’t think you can beat RHT
