Finally had the chance to take the gun out to the range today. LOVE this combo.
With EOtech reticle, it's easy to find and easy to get on target, the dot in the middle is brighter than the outer circle, so long distance shooting is made that much easier, too.
Only 200 rounds on the sight so far, not a real endurance test, but from all the reviews I read, it should hold up if I don't abuse it too much. The only downside is that the sight doesn't come with a protective housing as many other sights do.
Some reviewers didn't like the auto mode, I find it works quite well as it auto adjusts the brightness depending on whether it's sunny/cloudy/etc; definitely not an issue for outdoor IPSC courses. Only time this has the potential to become problematic is when someone uses it in auto mode to go into and out of buildings/rooms, etc. The sight auto adjusts the brightness based on the outside brightness ABOVE the sight (ie where the solar panels are); and not what's in front of the sight (ie where the shooter is pointing/aiming). So if you are in a room that's darker compared to outside, and you aim at a target that's sunlit, then the reticle will washout. So probably not ideal for tactical use; but who buys a Holosun for tactical use anyway? For me, it's all about IPSC production optics.
For those who might be wondering, the grips are Lok palm swell bogies, surprisingly thin for palm swells, fits my wife's hands great (she's 5'3")
