Shadow 2 parts questions

Hey guys, I recently bought a Shadow 2 OR and I had a couple of parts question as I am setting it up and building my spare parts kit:

1) What are the default recoil and trigger spring weights?
2) Do people still use lower weight main springs? I used to put 13 lbs in my Shadow 1.
3) Do people still use lower weight recoil springs / different shock buffer setups for lighter (135 PF) than factory loads? I used to put 11 lbs in my Shadow 1.
4) What parts should I get for my spare parts kit? For my old CZ-75 I have a trigger return spring (10067), a slide stop (10003), an extractor set (10093, 10095, 10096) and a firing pin and spring (10229). From my understanding, only the firing pin is compatible with the Shadow 2?
5) Any good place to get these spare parts in Canada?

Thanks so much

I believe the recoil spring is 13#, can't say for the trigger spring weight

2) Do people still use lower weight main springs? I used to put 13 lbs in my Shadow 1.
Yes. 8lb is not out of the question but you need to do some polishing up on your firing pin chamber and firing pin and use a reduced power firing pin spring. This will get you around 7-7.5lb DA and around 1.5-2lb SA along with a reduced power trigger and sear spring in addition to a good polish job. 13# gets 100% ignition with a factory firing pin spring but with a 7.5-8lb DA and 3lb SA

I'm running a 8lb recoil spring with 147gr ammo rated at ~128PF and factory stock buffer. Don't notice any peening after 1200rnds. Factory ammo, I'd recommend 11#.

Spare slide lock, extractor, extractor pin, extractor spring, trigger return and sear springs, a spare firing pin never hurts

Select Shooting Supplies, DLASK, Tenda, Wolverine.

I usually check the above sites for CZ Shadow 2 spare parts every month or two and find they are almost always sold out. Find stores are great stocking CZ guns, but really lousy at maintains a decent parts inventory.

I’d like at least one spare of each of the CZ S2 parts you recommend above Trinimon, plus need some mag, recoil, hammer and firing pin springs as well. Thinking about ordering from one of the European ipsc parts sites and possibly organizing a group parts buy with few others in same situation to offset the fairly steep delivery charge. Been waiting to do this however until I had a specific S2 part I needed to replace and couldn’t find in Canada.

Yup, the local Canuck suppliers just don't seem to keep stock or can't get stock. I just order most of my parts from ipscstore dot com. Delivery takes about 3-4wks depending on how long it gets held up in customs. Unfortunately even some parts are out of stock for months on ipscstore. Ahh well. Other source includes seboweapons and czcustom. Shipping is a bit steeper but if they got the parts in stock, make it count.

If local shops don't have the stuff you need seboweapons is the place to go. Go in on an order with a few people to reduce shipping costs if you can.

So, sorry to revive this thread, but I tried changing out my mainspring and recoil springs with my old spares from my Shadow 1 with mixed results. The mainspring seemed to work fine, however the recoil spring from the Shadow 1 is much longer than the Shadow 2's and as a matter of fact I can't even make the guide rod with the spring to fit in the slide. Are the recoil springs not compatible?

the longer spring is because it's a lighter spring. With the 2 you need get the guide rod and spring in as much as you can, without force, then lift up on the guide rod just before the spring box, pushing the backside down and forward. The springs are exactly the same for both guns.

13lbs and 15lbs

I have gone down to a 12 with the stock firing pin and spring. Has trouble setting off the odd Dominion primer, but CCI and softer are fine. Gives me 8ish for a DA pull

3) Do people still use lower weight recoil springs / different shock buffer setups for lighter (135 PF) than factory loads?
I use the factory recoil spring for my IPSC loads, but a 10lb spring for my PPC loads. I use a 122gr cast bullet with 3.95gr 231 for IPSC and 3.25gr 231 for PPC. Use a buffer with both

Ah I see, thanks, I'll try that tonight.

Thanks for the info!

I just wanted to report back that I had a very good experience ordering from Sebo Weapons. I ordered 2 extractors / pins / springs, 2 trigger springs / pins, 3 slide stops and 1 firing pin / spring all for roughly $170 CAD, and it only cost $13 CAD for shipping! Took about a month to get here from the time I ordered but I really can't complain since those parts weren't available in Canada anyways and the price was very reasonable.
