Shadow2 OR Venom plate screw holes are smaller than my Venom's provided screws

Got mine last night from Wolverine. Super excited. Mounting the plate on the slide as a test with no problem. When I tried to mount the Venom then I found the screws from Vortex has a different trending and size compare to the CZ plate. I have mounted this same Venom on a Glock17 MOS with no problem before (same screws used I think...) . Found some other screws that matched the mounting plate's threading. Then I did a visual check, the screws that fits are a bit smaller than the 2 screw holes on the Venom so unless you complete tighten down you can feel the red dot rattles even there are 4 studs.

Also, when you take off the original rear sight plate you will see they drill a bit further down into the slide and form a groove like " / \ " shape. I first thought, oh this is better than the Glock MOS so it is more forgiving with screw length? Nope... If you match the screw holes about 1/8 of the hole is still blocked by the edge of the groove so not likely your screw can fit inside the groove. Still have to check and match screw length and make sure they don't stick out from the bottom of the plate.

This only applies to the Venom mount plate. If you have other brand your experience might be different. May be my Venom red dot is a weird older model? May be it works for yours? Would be nice to get some feedback to see if this is just my problem or not.

I ran into the same thing . The latest Venom sight comes with two extra Glock screws they work with the Cz 2 plate. The screws CZ provides are a taper head the Glock Venom have a flat head .

I got the same Shadow 2 OR, Venom, and Venom plate. I used the screws coming with the plate to fix the plate to the slide. And the screws with the original rear sight plate to fix the Venom to the plate. They work very well. The Glock screw coming with the Venom should also work but I feel they are a bit loose compared to what I use.

information tidbit only, the Delta Point Pro plate and optic work just fine
