Went for a burn out back yonder to let the hound furs
get a good run.
Shaggy Manes are coming out of the ground.
Hunting Thread you say...........?
Of course. First time out, don't be firgitt'n yer shaggy bag,
knife and wee yittle brush to knock the muck off'em.
Keep them clean and less mess when you git home.

Waiting patiently for the English translation.

Really? I thought it was quite clear for Looky. :p A little luck with the grouse, a couple of potatoes and you have the start of a wicked stew, but cook them fast or they'll deliquesce (which is just fun to say). :D

Thanks 'looky....are there look a likes that one needs to pay attention to when picking the shaggies????? OPR??? is that red wine????

I do the Boletus 'shrooms in butter olive oil and salted once golden brown....great stuff

OPR........aka............Kelowna Red.
Maybe a wee bit of salt, pepper and a dash of curry powder.
I like using the Costco garlic in a jar.
Shaggies for me are easy to spot. The only mushroom I know without
having to think about them.
They do go dark in a hurry, but a wee bit of dark I still use them.
The bottom of the heads go dark, twist them apart and cut off the black.
Just keep them clean when you harvest them. Makes for less work when
you get home. They are a bit stickie and the dirt passes from one to the other
quite easily.

Bon appetite.
