Good day,

I've been lurking this forum for a while now and I've learned lots. Thanks guys! I've finally got my rig up and running and I finished working up a load that seems to agree with this rifle.

Nothing fancy so far but here she is: Remington 700 in .308 with a 24" heavy barrel. I've got a Falcon Menace 4-14x FFP Mildot on her with low TPS rings and a EGW 0 MOA rail. Working out good so far. Eventually I want to get her rigged up with a McMillan stock, VBull mag, and a tactical bolt knob but all in due time.

I pulled this off this morning. Five shot group at 100 yards. That rascal on the right can be attributed to the fact that I'm an incompetent boob and should not be a reflection of the rifle.

Oh yes, and no bag rests here thank you very much!

Very nice! My first precision rifle was almost the same, except that my scope was a Leupold.

From my experience, get a trigger job done first (well unless you like it as it is). Then worry about the bolt knob. I found that I benefited more from a light crisp trigger than the bolt knob.

Nice! I want groups like that (I'm going to ignore the winger, happens to the best of us!)

Why ignore the winger, it was shot as a part of that group. Might as well ignore all the ones that don't go in the same hole.

Exactly!!!! 4 shots in the same hole and one an inch away is a one inch group, and a combination that will almost certainly lose you a precision shooting match.

LOL! I've been doing (attempting) precision shooting for exactly three months. It's a work in progress for christ sakes!
