Not-So-Long Tom

My modest contribution....

DPMS/Panther Arms LR-308 [Gen 1]... Bushnell Elite 6500 scope; Luth-AR rifle stock; Ergo grip; inside is a CMC trigger. The short quad-rail is a replacement for the original tubular job, but I'm looking for something longer to cover the gas block entirely. Matador Hammerhead muzzle brake. I'm pretty pleased with this, although I'm looking to build a new upper with a longer match barrel, just for grins.

'New" Titanium brake (0.7oz - Rifle is 7.6lbs dry):

Heavy barrel Dutch AR10 called a "Mariner's Rifle" because it was developed for their marines circa 1959. Unfortunately not adopted. It is located in the US and built on a US made semi-auto lower receiver. Not a quick change barrel. The bolt group is not unique to this variant and interchanges with Sudanese and earlier variants.

Who did that lower work? Is that a reweld? Or really nice recreation of the factory markings?

Either way, looks amazing :)

Nope, not a reweld. I have worked with a nearby engraver who is anal when it comes to detail. The 1980s Specialty Arms lowers have a blank magwell and thus are particularly suited to the factory style engravings. I did not paint the lettering white - you are looking at the naked aluminum.

I would be very happy to acquire any Dutch AR10 spares or accessories you guys have north of the border.

Agreed that the post 1980s Armalites are well made. However, the "Real McCoy's" were made in Hollywood California (1955-1959) and the Netherlands (1957-1961).

"Cuban" AR10 made in Holland in 1957. Intact.

"Transitional" (Pre-Portuguese) AR10 made in Holland in 1959. Intact.
