Sharon IDPA 3-Gun Match April 8

Hey, I don't give a flying "F" what you call it & how you score it !

If I'm holster qualified & I'm permitted to come out and shoot 3 guns,
at 18 rounds per stage or 100 rounds per stage, I'm just a blast'n
until someone says STOP :)

so maybe it is or it's not a sanctioned match, who cares, I prefer it not to be a sanctioned match, this way we can follow all the safety rules, but loosen up on the other rules ;) & have a great shoot'n time.
If anyone is to anal to just enjoy the shoot that someone is going thru their time to set up, than just don't show up ! or give me your gun & I'll shoot it for ya :p :D

Sounds to me like you have it right!:D

Ohhh, do you need to be holster qualified?

Yes, I had better add that to the first post.

If you have enough mags, can get more or want to borrow AR mags from me or someone else at the match then you are welcome to shoot the pistol part with your rifle.

Are there IDPA 3-guns in the US? I don't know. Maybe someone can post a link showing how they do them.

No! The P in IDPA stands for Pistol. IDPA is strictly a handgun sport. The is no such thing as IDPA 3 - gun matches anywhere......

Dragoon... Me gets the impression you're a bit of an IDPA purest... :D

What's going on around here in SW Ont. with what's being billed as IDPA may not fit the definition you're used to... Hell, it's not even always "defensive".
But it's alway fun, interesting and a challenge...
You say "IDPA match" 'round here and people know what you mean... They just wanna know where, when and how many guns to bring.

'Call it a regional difference;)

Yes it is not IDPA, it is IDPA 3 gun. I am trying to follow the Spirit of IDPA in a 3 gun match. Come to the match have fun, then tell us all how it is not really IDPA.

All you've proven is there are others like you that bastardize IDPA rules. Please show where, on the official IDPA website, where the rules are for IDPA 3- Gun.......

louenfield,
you put a match and hope a few sane people will come and enjoy themselves. and what do you get, criticism for naming it this and that. On top of the hurdles you have to get over at the club level. Hat's off to you buddy for continuing on amid the lunacy.

To keep Dragoon and his ilk happy perhaps a new name is needed for these type of matches... Sure, it's not IPSC and it ain't really IDPA....
I shoot at a club in michigan http://www.michigan3guncombat.com/ that puts matches on that are very similar to what's happening here... They call it "3-GUN COMBAT"

Of course this being Canada... the term "COMBAT" might not be politically correct enough to get by many gun club board of directors...

Why not call it what it is...it's not Defensive, It's not Practical...it's Tactical.

So how Tactical 3 Gun...

...sips coffee and waits patiently for the Tctical crew to pipe in and say...

Sorry this wont work.

Your in the area so I would not like seeing you miss the shoot, but there is movement with the pistol, it is not a static match.

Vistors can shoot long guns at a practical pistol or practical shotgun match but if it is your first time through then you have to walk.

I will be setting up the Friday after work and starting at 9 am on Saturday I will be stapling up the targets and other last minute stuff.
