Sorry this wont work.

Your in the area so I would not like seeing you miss the shoot, but there is movement with the pistol, it is not a static match.

Vistors can shoot long guns at a practical pistol or practical shotgun match but if it is your first time through then you have to walk.
see this is when al lthe aciton shootign stuff gets messed up
holster cert. and all that sh*t.
farmboy dont need anyone to hold his hand when it comes to tac shooting.
but i guess rules are rules.

Yes, if we were in the US we would be born with holster qualification, but my club and others require IPSC or PPC holster qualification to run around with a handgun.

Imagine getting to a match in the US, going to the safety table, pulling your gun out from behind your back, unloading it and puting it in a belt holster!

Would you believe watching a guy run out of ammo in the middle of a Cooper Tunnel, then grabing his gun out of the ankle holster to finish the stage:D

Unfortunately it was on a cold range and dude got DQ'd for the effort.

I was in a match in Tonawanda, New York many years ago and was working as a helper for the monthly IPSC match. There was a new shooter and he brought his s&w 9mm autoloader. The basics of the stage was explained to him and after the load and make ready command was given, there was a bang. Obviously he was DQ'd and was asked why he fired a shot at the wall in front of him. He said he was not familiar with the gun's safety and was testing it. He and his buddies probably felt he was competent enough to shoot his pistol in the match without taking the Black badge course, but.... This guy might be one in a million, but he was a potential accident waiting to happen. A black badge course while a hassle will prove to others, specially me and to yourself that you are competent.

badboybeeson when do you plan on going up? Maybe you can take me out to coffee on the road. ;)
I hope there are still spots available for this. I have made some very complex plans to get to this shoot. This may cause me to descend into the IDPA world forever.

Remember guys, there is no sign up. It is first come first served.

The first competitor goes at 10 AM.

If you are driving a long way then PM me and I do my best to hold a spot for you if you are not going to be there early in the day.

Musky, No AR? you sell it? if so, why man? that was a sweet set up !
just like mine, but with the sweeter Halo sight.

If the machine gun shoot is on the same weekend, I may go to that instead,
but would like to shoot this too.

anybody can lend me an AR to shoot this match? I only got an 870 and pistol now...?

Musky,

If you can handle iron sights, you can use my AR and mags. It will be there all day.

You will need to source mag pouches as mine will be all tied up as part of my gear for the match.

The Kuny's Cell-phone pouches work great. I last saw them at Home Depot for $5 each.

There is an IDPA pistol match at Sharon tomorrow (March 25th).

You will find the IDPA rule book here:

http://www.idpa.com/

For this match the main IDPA-style points are:

- the pistol and all your ammo (rifle, handgun, shot and slugs) is on your person concealed under a coat.
- You shoot with 50% of your upper body behind cover. A range rule requires that the shotgun shot targets (poppers/plates) be engaged from at least 10 yards or you are DQ'd. Aside from these shot targets, the pistol or rifle targets can be shot on the move if the course of fire permits it. Stopping to shoot without cover gives a procedural for each shot, but the RO will yell out COVER to remind you!
- Only drop empty mags. Each mag left behind with ammo gives you a procedural.
- There are no IPSC style walk-throughs. The course of fire will be explained and you can see the set up from the start point - that is it.

Yep it is getting close. I am setting up Friday afterwork (everything except the paper targets). Saturday morning the paper gets stapled up and the match begins.

My belt is really heavy with 4 pistol pouches, 5 rifle pouches and 2 California Strippers for the shotgun shells. Suspenders are definitely required!

To get to Sharon:

From the 401 come north on the 404 to the end.

Turn right onto Green lane and continue east - the name of the road changes to Herald Rd. When you get to Kenedy turn left and the entrance to the range is immediately on your right.

might wanna list concession road numbers too. it's been a while, but i don't recall calling the roads by name that far north. 5th, 6th, and 7th concessions in that area :D

the gun club is not too far from my parents house. have a good event guys.
