So my Question is, do we actually call the match director or do we send an email? If it is an email then what is different then the online system? And if we have to call will he be pissed if we all call at 3 in the morning. I am being serious as to when do we call, how soon before the match date etc?
Geez Eugene, did the easter bunny not leave you enough chocolate or too much?

There should be no ifs... All matches are open to all IPSC members equally.
I am just stating the point. There is several people on this thread just proved it already, as they didn't know about this match. I wonder how many are still waiting for signup for the Waterloo Level 3 to open on ipsc-matches...
I totally agree Peter, and I've said it before. Pay when you register! That would all but eliminate someone signing up all their friends, as well as those who sign up just to keep their options open. An added bonus is that MD's wouldn't have to collect any money on match day, and they wouldn't get stiffed by a "no-show".I would like to see prepayment for at least 48hrs before the match or your name is delete from the list.
This may help match organizers,... maybe (FRAUD ALERT)??
The problem was not with the phone signup, but with not telling *everyone* that signup will be over the phone.
I am going to shock myself by agreeing somewhat with Euxx.........
The "defacto" method for signup has been IPSC-matches for a few years now.
The same thing with the Springintosummer match........
Not to use the technology is a tad illogical.
Given the technology is used by a few to the detriment of many I must disagree. If one wants to market their match(s) specifically to gamers and lamers with smart phones then the online match signup system is the "defacto" way to go. De fact remains that many do not get a chance to sign up for matches, except for standby, when the online system is the only method employed.
The technology should not be used exclusively...(ie. the only method of signing up) If the online signup is used...members should still have the option of signing up by any other method. Some clubs do this...and just manually add those people to the online app.
We shouldn't be forcing members to use an online app...if they don't want to. We have a large number of members in the 50+ age bracket who do not embrace the technology.
It's practical shooting...not practical computing...

The problem is when do you open for sign up? Different dates for each method? There's no point having a call in sign up if all it does is get you on the wait list because the match filled in minutes of opening with the online website. Perhaps two weeks before the match for phone in and one week before the match for online sign up?
