Anyone else have this problem? Sort of a minor annoyance, but the edges of my op rod are sharp. When I charge the rifle with my strong hand I've started using just the first joint of my trigger finger, which helps to not ride the op rod. But if I forget, or use my support hand AK style, I get bit. It hasn't tasted blood yet, but gets annoying.

Has anyone taken a file to theirs? Aside from that issue, my op rod seems to be great, no need to replace with USGI in my mind.

I tend to file mine perfectly smooth just for comfort, then apply some cold-blue to the bare metal.

File it. No really, just think about the angles and curves you want, and file away. I did mine in a lazy 15 minutes and it has nothing but comfortable curves!

I didn't blue mine. I'd found a tiny bottle of automotive grey touchup paint at Canuckian Tire, and its reasonably close to the grey parkerizing that its not noticeable unless you look close.

Yep, a couple of gentle swipes with a decent file, or emery cloth.

Gentle, as you're likely not interested in changing the shape of the tab, just dulling the uglies, so to speak

"Put down your purse and rack that rifle like a man, Private Pyle. You didn't join my marine corps to suck #### did you, Private Pile? Well I bet you could suck a golf ball through a garden hose, Private Pyle!"

Sorry, how could I resist? You M14 cqb'ers knew that was coming. :)

Okay, back to reality, file away. Hey, it's a Norinco ; you can only improve things! Ha ha ha ha. Actually , I am serious about that!

I miss that M14 clinic Thomas and I did together in the BC Interior, that sure was fun back in 2012!

Cheers and keep the newbies laughing!

Speaking of the Marine Corps, here is my Marine Corps bulldog standing at attention over my Garand parts.

And with the M-14s
