I just signed on as a subscriber thanks to a friend.

He told me about seeing someone's post regarding a Sharps '63 percussion rifle.
Anyone got a lead on who it was?

I already have one so the only thing better would be another. It's a pain in the sitz-piece to strip and clean the breech block after shooting, but it's my favourite nostalgia BPR.

Sharps 63 Percussion

I have one in a Cavalry carbine in 54 cal. but I don't use it. It stays in my Civil War collection with me Enfields, Spencer, Maynard and Henry. There are a few Sharps percussion rifles in the Maritimes but most are cartridge guns. There is usually one or two floating around in the summer during rendezvous season.

I've got a Shiloh '63 for sale in the exchange forum:

That's a r'aht purdy rifle y'all got there! 30" barrel

Two of my 3 Shiloh Sharps are Farmingdale rifles. The paper Sharps is in .50 calibre which makes it convenient to shoot as I can use the same bullet in my 50-70. Both are in the Military Rifle configuration.
Last spring I took a 425 black bear with the 50-70 so it's going to be the '63 this year.

Not being happy with the spillage using BP, I make up paper cartridges rolling the bullet (Lyman 515141 sized .512) with a .54 calibre 60 gr Pyrodex pellet.
It makes into an authentic looking cartridge that handles well.

What are you asking for your rifle and what would you consider in trade? I tried accessing the link you posted and was denied access.
