Shaving lead from bullets

I am using a lee powder through flare die. The obvious answer is to add more flare but the die is all ready touching the shell plate. I'm loading DRG 9mm bullets.

Is it possible to get a bit more flare out of the die or am i having other issues? One thing I've considered is perhaps my crimp is happening too soon before the bullet is seated and the bullet is pushed further after the crimp. Has anyone ever seen that happen? (seating and crimping in same die)

frig sakes. Problem solved. The black band that holds the powder measure on was out of adjustment. unfortunately Lee doesn't mention this ring in the setup instructions.

If the ring that attaches the powder measure to the die was tight and you were still not getting enough crimp you could grind down the bottom of the die. not an ideal solution but it would get the job done.
