For those of you who reload using cast bullets: How do YOU remove lead build-up inside your revolver barrel?

Even with mild reloads running 800/900fps I get a fair amount of leading after 50 rounds.
Trying to develop the best and least damaging method possible..

Ideas please!

Take an old jag in the caliber you are cleaning, wrap the jag with a single thickness of paper towel, wrap the towel with Chor Boy brass scouring pad unwound. Scrub the barrel and cylinders until clean.

This is the poor mans' Lewis lead removal system as introduced to me by Ray Canning.

Fire 6 jacketed rounds through it at the end of a lead shooting session. It cleans everything out and you don't do any unnecessary scrubbing which could potentially damage your barrel.

I have tried a number of different ways over the years with varying amounts of success. This works well for me with the least amount of hassles, equipment, and worry about damaging the barrel.

My second choice would be the Lewis Lead Remover kit although I only use it in the cylinder anymore- not the barrel. Assuming it is still sold.

I can't add much about cleaning but can offer my experience with cast....your revolver should not lead, bullets that are cast to the right size and lubed properly and of a good design(lots of lube capacity-grooves) should not lead your bore. Bullets that are designed so they will cast easily by machine with 1 small lube groove and lube that is hard and just meant for transportation will lead your bore!
