Sheep Changes Coming

WTF are youtalking about? I have asked questions and got answers. Everyone has seen the proposals, it's what this whole thread is about???

I asked if you'd seen the new sheep management plan that is currently out for peer review, not the proposed changes (I suspect or at least hope you know the difference) and you replied that you had....that's what I'm talking about.

How can you even say what is and isn't relevant to the sheep management plan. Have you seen the new one. My understanding is that's it's out for peer review before being released. Are you part of that panel or is this just more of you claiming to know something that you don't?

As a sheep hunter I would rather have greater trophy potential than killing an average ram every two years. Don't kill a ram with small horns, horns will get larger. Seems like sound science to me, I for one support the change and think it's too long coming.

They have data from wmu 400 that shows that keeping those rams around the extra 1.5 years (the amount the average age of rams harvested goes up according to their data) helps out the herd structure. Nice to see those fast growing 4.5 and 5.5 year old rams get a couple more years under their belt to potentially pass on their genetics. Other data suggests mature rams are able to "cover" the ewes quicker - thereby syncing the lamb delivery in the optimum windows for utilizing forage etc. This helps with achieving better lambs survival. When you think about it - all pieces of management have linkages.

Despite what some are whining about - we have some good folks working on this.

Was this information shared with you over drinks the other day after the meeting?

You are a petty little man, the people that were at that meeting were way above any of the nonsense you are suggesting and your backhanded insult requires an apology to the professionalism of the bio that was there presenting this information.

Obviously you know of someone that was there and I'm sure they can fill you in, that was the point of the meeting and the people that were there.

If you spent half the time getting the info from the people that have it you wouldn't be getting so worked up over the fact that no one wants you at such a meeting.

You're delusional. There is no conspiracy or any other bs that's running through your mind. Now I think it's time to try out that ignore feature you've been raving about. *click*

I wasn't really thinking there was a conspiracy, I was just curious how you'd seen the management plan that no one else has been permitted to see.....not sure why you are so reluctant to answer. I'm sure there is a simple answer.

I have NO stake in the sheep situation...

But Dear Lord, this thread was a painful read... and rather revealing.

I do agree with you and I think that comment was over the top. But, do you really think he will give an apology? LOL!

There was meeting in which the local bio presented the information on the current status of sheep management in the province. At that meeting he would us info from the draft document.

No conspiracy no hidden agenda.

Not a chance, the sad part is if he knows about the meeting then the right people were there, those that could pass on the info, but he still wants to make it into something sinister

I don't recall placing the blame on anyone nor even alluding to anyone...I apologize if people read more into my comment than was there. There was no finger pointing intended. I'm honestly curious where he "saw" it. Lots of options, including he's confused what he saw. Be interesting to hear it directly from Patty seeing as he was the one that "saw" it. All speculation at this point. I suspect it's easily explained......but the explanation isn't coming......curious.
