Okay, so I got a California Bighorn LEH draw, and I've been chasing it.

Last week, I spent all week trying for a sheep, saw nothing that ws big enough.

FInally, I saw one that was worth a stalk.

I had my crosshairs on it for 2 hours, trying to decidee if ti was legal trhough the spotter.

Eventually, I pulled out, even though I think it was legal-COudn't be sure,

I'm heading back next week. My first sheep tag, it may even work out... :D

When shooting a squeeker better to be safe than sorry . Good luck in the up coming hunts, hope you fill your first sheep tag! Dont forget some pics if you do 8)

It's getting to be a ##### to hunt out here, eh Gate. Four point muleys, four point whitetails, five point caribou, six point elk, tripalm/spike/fork moose, 3/4 - full - mature sheep, lactating cougar, bears in multiples, etc. And on top of all the freakin' restrictions ya gotta be a Philidelphia lawyer to interperate some of the regulations. A lot of old timers are saying the hell with it :( and I can't say I blame them. Good job on your restraint! You'll be rewarded with a good 'un :D ...KF

 Jesus, I though Albertas regs were getting out of control. Are these size limits etc. province wide or just in certain areas?

Every area has it's own rules..

FOr instance where I am, you can shoot any buck- 2 of them, form Sept to December. Otyher areas it's 4 point in Sept, any in Oct, 4 point in November. And only one buck.

And so on, and so on... :D

That musta been brutal... what is legal size, three quarters? It must be tough to figure them out at long range...

Yup, i have a 3/4 curl tag.

And it was brutal. I was set up nicely about 400 yards away, with a slight breeze coming directly towards me. The shot was long but doable.

I would see his horns and think 'he's legal. I'm gonna shoot' and then look thorugh tthe spotting scope and say 'nope, he's not.'

Repeat x20. :p

My brother did the same thing a couple of years ago!

Ah, the joys of sheep hunting.

I have been riding that boat before. It can be frustrating, but even just watching them for hours seems to keep me entertained.

Good luck! 8)

Absolutely. It was 6am when I left the truck, and when I finally decided not to shoot it was 12 noon. I htought that MAYBE 3 hours had passed... :D

Wow... that's nice though.

Seeing and watching an animal for that long. Neat.

Usually I just get a few minutes (if that) of a deer on a clear cut. Sheep hunting must be a nice experience.

I saw 3 mountain goat in pemberton meadows (?). That was neat, watched them for like 30 minutes. A family unit. (i guess)...

They were on the side of the forest road, not the one that you take to go to gold bridge, the one on the "other" side of the river.

Goats & Sheep are pretty good mountain climbers eh?
