shelf life of 777 powder

How long can you keep a half can around and expect it to work? What are the signs that it's not up to snuff anymore?

I've got some that's a year old. Its' been stored in a cool place but with sometimes high humidity (75%). The lid was tighly closed with the foam seam still in place.

Your best bet is to contact Hodgdon's (help@hodgdon.com) and ask them. In my experience, they provide excellent technical assisitance.

Practically, moisture is the biggest enemy of your powder. If it's sealed against moisture and kept in a cool environment, I would expect it to last for several years.

I have a few pounds of Triple Seven that were bought when the product was first launched (how many years ago would that be?). Anyways, as of last Saturday (when I used it during the deer season), it was working great .
