I am contemplating reloading ammunition for a late september hunt.

Is there any issue with loading now or ahould I wait til closer to the date...

I have seen someguys say shoot fresh,...and others have said that it's fine to store reloads for months on end...

Thoughts?

I shot a friends 35+ year old 12g reloads that were stored in a garage and out of 20 rounds only one was a dud... so reloading now for a hunt in a month and a bit will be no issue.

mine never get to age that long !
their shelf life lasts maybe a month before finger gets the itch and needs to let a few fly.
i know i have shot 10 yr old reloaded shot shells and 10 yr. old 30-06 reloads that i was given when i bought a 3006 from the widow of the estate.

Assuming the primer or powder is not contaminated and it is stored cool and dry I would bet the ammo would be good as long as factory, and in some cases that is 100 years +.

I was worrying about sealing my handloads for storage a while back. I did some tests, storing them in very cold environments, storing them in hot environments (safely!) and even leaving some immersed in water for a month. No issues at all. I wouldn't be worried rolling some for use a few months from now...
