Shell Caddy Choices & Opinions

As the title suggests... I'm curious about 3-gunners choices in caddies for shotshells and their preferred method of loading whether it's strong hand, weak hand, four shells out of the caddy or a double shell pluck from two caddies.

After this years 3 gun season and basically just learning, enjoying, and scoping out the gear/toys guys are running I'll spend this winter working up a new system with a few new guns that are a little more suited to just 3-gun instead of just running what I brung, lol! I'll switch from an 858 and 5+1 duck gun vest and belt to an AR, 870 with GR sights and only a belt possibly if I can find enough room for shotshell caddies, pistol mag holster and AR mag holsters... I may end up running the AR mags in a light vest or leg pouch though...

So tell me... 4x4 or single 4? 1 or two caddies? Anyone make any at home out of Kydex? Anything would be an improvement on loading speed for me compared to the dump pouch method I've been using, but I also realize I will have to practice the loading technique which feels most comfortable to me in the end. I foresee an extensive amount of time doing this and many many many dummy rounds being chased all over my basement, LOL!

If you have anything else interesting or informative about shot gun loading (aside from the extremely helpful and informative vids a guy can find on youtube about caddy loading) then please share! I lose the most time on my stages because of loading that dang scatter gun... Never had one before this year, but that's no excuse, lol!
 
Reworking my system for simplicity would mean less, not more... 2 vests is more, lol! If you mean a vest pouch for shot shells, then definitely no. I tried that already and do not like it at all. I don't shoot IPSC. Ever. I'm not that serious, nor am I that good, :D I just want to be a bit better and not the odd guy out, ;)

I think stormbringer was referring to this vest, the "Load-2" vest. Not for you to load up 2 vests. The vest wouldn't be for IPSC, for IPSC all attachments/caddies must be from the belt.

Oh, hahaha! Tyvm for clearing that up! I see the caddy/shell holders, but no vest on their site. I'm thinking the AR mags would be easier to mag change from a vest for me as it's something I'm already familiar with. The two shell idea is an option for sure and I have seen a few two-shell holders for belts/moly. A few of the stages we saw this year a guy would need quite a few of them though...
 
Im gearing up for pistol+shotgun multigunning and going with carbon arms load 2 setups on the belt. Just so so fast and easy to do consistantly.
 
S&J is out of stock now... I placed an order a month ago with another vendor, tryed to cancel said order when a heard S&J had stock but have not heard anything back yet... At this point id be happy with a bunch of the single stack ones just so long as someone would ship them to me
 
I ordered a 3x3 from Brownells a couple days before I ordered the 4x4 from S&J. Really wasn't worth it to get it from Brownells with UPS fees.
 
Just to be clear, the FSLs only have a smaller learning curve. Overall, the loading time between load 2 and off a shell caddy is negligible....well, at least at the top levels.

Either of those methods typically puts you in open...but all the standard methods are roughly equal...the load4 is potentially the fastest, time will tell
 
looks like has less chance to screw up as well as a shorter learning curve than off hand loading. I will be trying both since the fsl8 works for both
