Hey guys so shooting trap with my 1100 competition and wanting a shell catcher so I purchased a t&s clip on. Could only get it in plastic which sucks but oh well. Anyways when cycling a shell out it seems to just turn the shell backwards in the action and you have to dig it out bassicly. Is this just because it's not actually cycling as it should or am I missing something here?

When I got my 1100 competition Synthetic I also got a T & S shell catcher. I could not get it to work, there was not enough clearance between the ejection port in the receiver and the charging handle. I contacted T & S (sent them multiple images of the problem) they offered me two solutions 1 was to grind the underside of the charging handle to open up the clearance or 2 grind out the ejection port on the new gun. After going to a gunsmith to see other options I took the next step thru it in the garbage can.
Went out and got a Birchwood Casey Shell Catcher. Works great. After about 3000 rounds the little red end came off. I contacted Birchwood Casey to inquire how to buy a replacement. Heck no we will send you a free replacement and send along a handful of mounting tape too.
I would suggest to buy a Birchwood Casey you won't look back
