She's Done!

Very nice. The whole barrel calibre conversion swap was something I did not know about until I saw your thread. Being a dummy, this is a 9mm barrel plus 9mm mags to complete the conversion, correct?

Yes, this barrel and the 9mm mags are all you need. The Storm Lake barrel is drop in, no fitting was needed and accuracy is excellent. My reasoning for the switch was 9mm is much cheaper to shoot and my wife likes it better as recoil is lighter than 40. Happy wife = happy life.

So true!

Let me know how your Storm Lake barrel goes. I also got one in 9mm 5.7" threaded. So far accuracy went down pretty bad compare to my factory 9mm 5" barrel. POI also shifted significantly. Grouping shifted to the right about 2-3" @ 10m.
I only have ~100 rounds trough it.

I hope things will get better after a few hundreds of rounds...

Cheers

When you change a barrel you should expect a significant POI chage. Usually in the vertical, but horizontal can happen as well due to how the barrel is fitted, or not, in a drop in. Just readjust the sights. If you thought you could change barrels at will without adjusting the sights, I want some of the stuff you were smoking! A good smith could possibly make the changes required, but maybe not. As long as the POI is consistent, then you can't really blame the barrel.

I totally expected the POI shift. But not the poor accuracy...

I put SL barrels in my M&P and M&P Pro. Both with the built in brake slots. Less flip. Accuracy is fine, but not a dramatic change.

How long did it take you to get your barrel? I ordered mine from Questar in November. Still no barrel for me.

My KKM barrel doesn't seem as consistent as my original 5" pro barrel either, but it is still pretty good with the compensator attached and the p+++ loads to make major power factor. Maybe it is my change in shooting styles that is affecting my accuracy as I am shooting quicker from shot to shot.

It took a while to get. I was starting to wonder if I was ever going to get it. But it showed up eventually. The Storm Lake barrel never changed my POI very much and seems every bit as accurate as the stock barrel. It's more accurate than I am for sure.

I had a storm lake barrel as well on my 9mm M&P pro-core. The grouping was much better on the stock barrel. loved the looks of the stormlake but surprised by inconsistency of the barrel.
