who hasn't? subs are great to play with. and they can also be handy to have around if you live close to town and need to exercise the 3 S's
All standard pistols with regular loads shoot their projectile slower than the speed of sound. Big boom.
Oh, I know, you'll tell me it's because of the short barrel.
Many shotgun loads shoot their projectiles slower than the speed of sound.
Long barrel, big bang.
Many of us shot exremely light loads in rifles years ago. When we got the load light enough to be very comfortable on the ears, we called them basement loads.
Then, somebody coined a new name for them and ever since they have been called sub-sonic.
I guess it sounds cool, or maybe even ###y sounding, compared to "basement load".
Shoot, Shovel, Shut up?![]()
Im thinking of trying it with my .308 what cal. have you used them in?
I've loaded subsonics in my Mosin Nagant and .357 Marlin. They are really quiet out of a long barrel like the 29" Mosin, but make sure you use cast, as a stuck jacketed is no laughing matter.

What can we call them if we live in apartment (not at the end of the hallway but right by the elevators)?
I'm even afraid to fire my air and Co2 handguns.
Happy New Year
