Shilling

Wow.... Slow down.

Tactical Imports started all this on their own, with this Thread
- they felt the need to tell all of us they don't shill.
I have never seen this type of thread started by ANY other company on CGN...

I find this extremely odd... If you don't, good for you!
You're missing the context that a) this thread is over a year old, and b) when this thread was created, another retailer/manufacturer was caught using shill accounts to hype their own product. TI didn't just come out of the blue and say "Hey, FYI, we don't shill!" -- it was precipitated by the actions of other board sponsors.

Try putting things in context before flying off the handle and reviving 16-month-old threads.

PS: Lay off on the bolding, it makes you look like an idiot.

Peruse all you want, until you compare and research you can continue overpaying, same goes with walmart, crappy tire, best buy etc... like you said, this isnt a communist country, over pay all you want, i chose to shop around and pay less...much less, by over half on certain items. So when TI is selling something for 299 and i can get it for 120 with extras that TI charges extra for?? This is an item readily availible in Canada, not imported, wonder what the markup is on imported stuff?? They lost all business from me, I preordered my sg542 and 540 elsewhere..But by all means, pay more, this is a free country and all....
I worked for a marine wholesaler /importer for quite a number of years, we did not do business with the general public as it was not in our best interests to compete for a few dollars profit with a customer (the retailers who bought from us ) who might be spending 100-200 000 a year or more with our company. I know Bike shops (mountain and road bikes) that have markups of 200-300 percent on parts shocks etc. and most retail places are probably selling for 150% of what it comes into a wholesaler for . The funny thing is even though guys would come in and say well I can get that for ###X at (insert one of our customers names here ) we would still sell the retailer the item , make our 35-40 % and have a happy retailer who continued to buy from us who was happy with their sale and probably a new loyal customer because they were able to chip their price down a few points to satisfy him .

"Shill Accounts" ?? maybe not, but lots of the same people, who respond immediately to anything and everything in threads, ABSOLUTELY! - you can look up past threads (before they get deleted now) if you need proof. Exactly like this one. ;-)

PS, I'm very calm, I'm not flying off any handle, lol.
Take care,

I can't recall now, as it was so many moons ago... but was there not some other aspects associated with this shill scandal? Something to the effect that people would also come on and SLAM a particular company no matter what that company did? Even after months and months of no activity someone would just show up and start slamming a company out of the blue. Strange times indeed.

Makes you wonder...

I take a look into the Type 88 thread every so often as it seems to have a life of it's own. I really don't get the impression anyone is shilling for TI. There's lots of opinion about a rifle that few have held. Pretty much all the negative is from people that haven't even seen one. As for the price, it's worth what someone will pay...

I've owned two M 305's. A certain retard pointed out that Norinco's are a great value at their price point. My experience has been that a large percentage of them are a steal and a small percentage are a good value because they need a little work.

Dude your making accusations over nothing as far as I can tell. Time to put down the pipe...

Shill Friends? Really?

Thats lame.

Someone is obviously not reading the rules regarding Dealer forums.

Would you go into their store and look in their face and accuse them and #### on them?

Not likely. Don't do it here

Actually, I'm that certain retard with the pipe, my friend... So, you're saying Norinco rifles are not good value "at their price point"?

... signed,
the certain stoned retard

please please please show me a bike shop that is marking up shocks and/or parts 200-300 percent?

i find that most people that complain of pricing (not you as you worked wholesale) have NEVER worked for a retailer and do not take into account all the actual costs of doing business (rent/overhead/tax/INSURANCE and on and on) in fact they usually work for the government or are "union" and get all offended when you counter their complaints of high cost with their exorbitant salary/benefits package...

Ok, thanks for pointing these (Dealer Forum) rules out to me, rivetc.
I didn't know they exsisted... My appologies,

Folks are mixing two entirely different issues. What you pay, and how much the retailer make are two entirely different matters. You should be concerned about how much you pay. It's entirely none of yours/my business how much someone else makes. If they're selling to me at a price I like, and making a boatload, more power to them. Frankly, if everyone's making a ton, then competitive forces will eventually step in and correct the problem.

If you want to start raising the topic of how much someone's making off a sale, then it's fair game for them to say 'how much do you earn", and marking up accordingly. If their pay is your business, your pay is their business.

I'm in a service industry where a lot of folks seem to get concerned about how much margins are in sales. Being a service industry, I guess it's 100% of price if you look at it that way. I'm making out like a bandit! Woohoo!

Gentlemen,

I didn't see TI jumping in the other dealer's forum to say anything good or bad or I didn't see TI try to offend anyone here.

This tread was related to one incident involving another Business member long time ago - AR15 related, and I guess all the drama related to the Famae rifle was not created by TI. Actually they are acting very classy not even mentioning their competitor and ignoring them as much as they can.

If you don't want to give them your business, it's up to you redirect it to someone else but coming here and bad mounting TI? It's not the point.

Did you buy from them and they didn't deliver the item as expected and they didn't want to reimburse you? Any business/service related issue? As mentioned before, Canada is a free market, you have options to buy from different sources, don't need to buy from them.

This thread has to be one of the most funny in a long time. People giving a comment one way then the other when most of them probably have zero background in accounting or even running a business at all. I will only say briefly that the twice the price triple the price comments are valid on at LEAST half of the items everywhere. I think the real point of people saying it costs more etc. is that the Canadian firearms businesses seem to do it more than any other industry that is comparable. Lets talk about fishing rods, or other run of the mill items like kids chalk at Walmart. Almost the same price in both countries. Firearms allows the extra "boogieman" factor to creep in, just like that fun world you hear in the EE forums....Unobtainium.

Go to the SHOT show a few years in a row and see what the real prices are and then make a judgment call. You go and hear the Americans talk all about the exclusive deals with vendors in Canada, and how big they are. When you tell them it is two or three guys working out of a house they seem stunned and shocked. I've been and I know when people are blowing smoke. I just tell them match the price or I buy else where. It's my money, if they don't want it somebody else does. As to shilling there are many valid points I see in this thread. A great deal of members make a tidy sum buying and selling stuff all without paying the CRA a dime in HST or taxes.....Look at the posts, I am willing to bet 80% of the EE posts are made by 20% of the members. Shilling in some form or another happens here simple because it is anonymous. This gun is crap etc etc....but I am selling the better one. Everybody is responsible for their own money and actions simple.

Totally did, and saved enough for a couple crates of ammo, but by all means, overpay!!

Show us pics of your pair of FAMAE's when they arrive.
