Do you guys ship with insurance on your customs when being sent out for work. I wonder if they would even fix or replace a lost gun anyway? It also can $100 just for insurance, is it worth it?

If the contents are properly packed in that they don't move around and the carton is substantial so it offers some protection in handling and it is clearly addressed I have never had a problem sending it cheapest parcel post, signature required ($1.50) with the $100 of included insurance. I have been sending and receiving that way for over 20 years with never a problem. I also have received a few parcels where a loose firearm has punched a hole out the end of the box and it was rattling around inside. shake it just right and the barrel would slide out 10 inches... The only parcel I ever received with severe damage was in 1971 while working at Barotto Sports in Calgary. It was two new Remington rifles (600's) from Remington. The two cartons were substantial and strapped together making them even stiffer. They were bent at right angles at the grip area. When they were delivered the postman did not say anything, he just left them on the counter with our other mail. One bad shipment in 40 years. My understanding is insurance cost $1 per $100 and is for loss of parcel, not damage to contents.

A friend had a Bat action shipped out of Calgary which never arrived. I believe it was insured as they ordered another....but it means many months waiting. Unfortunate, but it happens. I always insure for the full value. Adequate insurance added about $65.00 each way for my last project. Just part of the cost of playing the game.
