Will there be any issues if i purchase an M1 garand stock in the US and have it shipped into canada? Are there any export/import permits required? Id hate to buy it, have it shipped up here and then have it siezed at the border.

as long as the company is willing. you can buy any legal (canada) parts up to and under $100 u.s. alot of american companies can't be bothered so only sell to americans. as your aware $100 u.s. isn't alot when talking about parts, stocks ect.

ANYBODY who exports gun parts from the US HAS to have an exporter's licence. That means you too if you want to mail it to yourself (BTW they don't issue those licenses to non-citizens).

A specific export PERMIT (NOT the same as a license) is not necessary for certain types of parts up to a maximum of $500 (export to Canada only, elsewhere in the world the limit is $100) BUT most exporters don't clearly understand the limit differences between Canada and the rest of the world. Even if a specific permit is not necessary the license is still a requirement.

Either way, if you export gun parts from the US and you don't have an exporter's license (and permit if applicable) you are violating US export laws and could be prosecuted by the US Government.
