Do know if this is in the right spot, but here it goes, sold Savage 99 to a fella in Taloyoak Nunavut, Canada Post is charging me $48 and that's insured for $400. Does this sound normal?

If you send it with $100 included insurance it's cheaper. Cheapest parcel post signature required is how I do it... pack it well and small as possible...

The price unfortunately sounds right. If at all possible, break the gun down. As mentioned, once you go over a certain length the price really jumps. Plus you are in New Brunswick and the gun is going to Nunavut--not cheap. You can figure almost $8.00 for insurance, $1.50 for signature, $1.75 fuel surcharge, tax plus the basic shiping cost. Doesn't take long to add up.

Save u a little if I are shipping frequently , get a venture 1 card. No charge. Package at or under 100cms otherwise yup , surcharge. Venture 1 gives u $100 included and the 2 hump camel 5-6 business days delivery. :)

From the sounds of it, the OP was expecting it to be a big cost to ship; and was surprised at how cheap the shipping was in comparison to other times hes shipped to more major areas.

But that being said; OP as mentioned from others, you can get those shipping costs even cheaper yet! More money in buyers pockets to buy more guns when it costs less to ship. Pass the savings on!
