How is it an extra hoop to jump through? The only time the STATT is not required is if you're home when the postal carrier shows up with your parcel and someone's there to sign for it. Any other time you'll need the STATT to get your gun. As has been pointed out numerous times, CP has a habit of just leaving the "pickup at post office" card regardless, which would then require a STATT.

Anyhow, the OP's question wasn't in regard to what people consider to be more convenient, it was about legalities of sending a restricted firearm to a PO Box. The answer is that it's perfectly legal.

Back to my role as a judge, you have not convinced me that you were certain that the restricted you were expecting was not in the package you picked up at the post office.

You can roll your eyes all you want, I like to track my packages, I buy a lot of stuff privately and by using the tracking info, I can sometimes pop home from work in time to receive the package and avoid the pita att all together.

Too Funny....nobody has been able to answer the original question. According to the CFC you have to ship to a physical address because you can't be guaranteed of getting a signature (as required)when delivering to P.O. Boxes. Are they full of ####e ?

Yes you can, you just have to put "signature required" and "plus 18" when shipping. I'm not saying thats what the CFC says, just saying what they said is wrong!

Yup, I get a lot of guns shipped to my PO box... They never actually end up in the box tho just that silly "pickup at outlet" card..

EDIT:
Also make sure you have your post offices physical address for the STATT when you go to pick it up.

We all agree that it can be done but the CFC says that it shouldn't be done when I called them. I am looking for anything that references this on their website or anywhere else so the lady I talked to is probably full of ####e.

Sorry Sask, I guess I got the wrong section #, however you can refer to the RCMP Firearms act FAQ. I'll see if I can dig out the correct act #. It will also be found with a search of the legalese forum.
