Shipping scope mounts from US to canada- problem?

Im about to order a scope mount from brownells. They tell me there are no US restrictions on shipping that kind of stuff but anyone wanna tell me what happens if canada border guys decide to take a look? I can get the same scope mount in country for about $30 more, worth it?

You will be charged GST plus a collection fee.
No problem importing the mount, and Brownells looks after the export.
 
The export of scope mounts and rings from the US is governed by the US Dept of Commerce which if I'm not mistaken, allows them to be exported without restriction.

The export of Op rod pieces and springs from the US, however is governed by the US Dept of State and are carefully regulated.

Brownells will sort out what can and cannot be exported and will not ship things they are not allowed to.

I have had no problems with my orders from Brownells and have even received iron gun sights from them as long as the purchase price was less than $100.

Brownells knows what they're doing and have no interest in getting in the "crosshairs" of BATFE or DOS.

US firearms export restrictions have nothing to do with national security

The problem is all the "pork" legislation and policies that 9/11 has spawned that have nothing to do with national security or patriotism and everything to do with promoting anti-gun agendas in both the USA and Canada.

You could import guns, ammo and components from the USA quite freely back in the 90s.

The CIA, FBI and other US LEAs dropping the ball and not co-operating with each other and acting on information they had in time resulted in 9/11 and North American gun owners are the scapegoats.

The anti gun administration in the USA used 9/11 as a big hammer against legitimate trade in firearms related products that hurts American gun manufacturers and restricts assess to these products in Canada which are both desirable effects to antis on both sides of the 49th parallel.
