Shoot pellets out of your AR-15

6mmbr has an article on it:

I posted it in a thread in the Service Rifle forum. It would be a useful training tool for Service Rifle if it didn't cost such a ridiculous amount.

FAQs

What velocity are you getting from these?

We do have some variation from lower to lower since each lower as its own unique hammer and hammer spring, but the guns themselves are pretty consistent within themselves. So far with the lowers we have sampled, we see them in the 520 fps- 580 fps range. They vary about 10 fps per gun, which is well within accuracy specs.

over 500 fps - does that not make it a 'firearm' in canada?

Its an upper. incapable of fire without a lower.
its not a firearm untill its assembled.

Have you guys looked at airsoft firearms as a viable training tool? I've recently purchased an airsoft rifle and pistol and they are amazingly realistic and i think make an awesome training tool...if nothing else they are just fun! You shoot reduced size targets at reduced ranges in your own garage or basement or where ever. Check out this page...

... and see how usefull airsoft can be for training.

The triggers usually suck. When trying to train the brain to break the trigger subconsciously a mushy trigger is of little use.

Trigger pull is just one of many aspects of shooting. I think the advantages and the fun of airsoft taining far out way the negatives. Never mind the fact that the trigger pull on my airsoft pistol is nice and crisp ;-)

$1200 for a restricted, single-shot airsoft? Pass... Honestly, I think if this is just for practice in your basement/etc. one would be further ahead with an actual Airsoft (you could then duplicate your setup with similar PTS versions of your real configuration).

My Inokatsu has realistic trigger pull, and they can be up graded to your
tastes, you may be thinking the electric guns, they are like shooting your
cordless drill.
And I can take it to the bush without an ATT or Lic.
