I'd like to know if there is a rule about shooting with a strip of IPSC Target Patches in pocket???

Because I have been request to removed my IPSC Target Patches that I had in front pocket, the strip was going down to the knee... never confuse me, never stop me, never disturb me, never cause me any concern...

Is there a IPSC rule about shooting with IPSC Target Patches in pocket?

I did ask the RO about the rules... no answer... did ask WHY I have to removed them... no answer...

I'm a human that like to understand... don't like power trip or personal opinion when this is a team sports... to me, this is no place for personal favour!

What did the Range Master at this match tell you when you asked him?
You did bring your concerns to the NROI certified Range Master before looking for a bunch of opinions from the internet, didn't you?

I didn't ask the Range Master because he wasn't present and he has better thing to do than answering this none critical question...

I did removed the patches... but this RO intervention (the way that was done) disturb my concentration and more important... my pleasure!!!

This is my first step... What do you mean by "bunch of opinions from internet"?

I'm sure they have good RO, CRO and RM in internet...

If you had an issue, you should have addressed it then and there.
You'd have felt better and the issue would have been cleared up immediately.

You'll see...stand by.

And bad ones too - you have no way of knowing which, though.

Ok, my NROI RM ranked opinion based on your description above is that the patches mean nothing and as an official I wouldn't have cared if you shot with them or not.
Maybe the RO thought they could cause an unsafe situation or was concerned that it might get in your way on a mag change, etc, hard to say at this point.
Dunno why he /she didn't tell you why. That would be common courtesy - but then, I wasn't there to see how you asked and the tone of your inquiry either.

In 25 years of IPSC, I've learned the hard way not to let little stuff like this get into my head when shooting.

Learn to let the little crap slide; you'll shoot better when you're happy.

Maybe he thought it might be a safety hazard, catch on something causing to DQ, or felt it might been unsafe since it wasn't just in your pocket it was down your knees. Or might get in your way and reaction to sweep it out of your way breaking 90.

Never seeks to amaze me.

Wasn't the safety until I talk about it... to me wasn't safety oriented...

I should stop looking for answer and trying to understand everything... ;)

There is no rule against having patches, but there is a rule for not following the reasonable directions of an RO

10.6 Disqualification - Unsportsmanlike Conduct is the rule... but what is the definition of "reasonable directions" ???

Is removing Patches from the front pocket is a "reasonable directions"?, if so, why?

I would just let it slide. Because clearly your not going to get the answer your looking for. Thats between that RO and you.

I have met one RO who is always in a #### match with everybody. Since that time I stay clear from him, 5 meters is enough do not smell his stink. I think he is the only one from close to hundred friendly ROs, so score is good.

If the RO thought a dangling line of patches was a safety issue, the RO (and the CRO/RM) may consider it to be a 'reasonable direction' to remove them. For example, if it could get caught in the way while doing a reload, it would make sense that the RO asked for them to be removed.

Personally, I have always wondered what constitutes 'reasonable' but so far I have never seen anyone DQd for failing to follow an ROs direction. I think most CROs/RMs would try to deescalate the situation before that happened.

I am surprised this was an issue though. I wasn't there but it seems like a trivial thing. All the power tripping ROs I've ever encountered were in outlaw matches, I've never seen it in IPSC or USPSA.

Ultimately, if you feel like you're being mistreated, escalate things to the CRO or RM. Its hard to do anything after the fact. If you're shy about speaking up about these things, as long as your professional about it, it should be fine.

I'm going to guess he asked you to remove them so you couldn't accidentally paste a target before it was scored and then ask for a reshoot or something equally crazy

Depends how many patches you had.
More than 10, I would deem that you are adding weight to your body to increase recoil control.
That's cheating in my books.
No one likes a cheater.
