Shooters Ridge Double Stack

In terms of reliable feeding, they're comparable to the Butler Creek "Hot Lips" mags although I find they can be a little finicky to load at times (the rims of the rounds can get hung up weird because of the double stack feed, I guess.)

They seem to only feed round bullets consistently such as Federal Bulk Packs whereas Remington Vipers, Yellowjackets and the like give me double feeds and hangups in the mag but YMMV. I've only put maybe half a brick of Federal Bulk and attempted a measly box of Remington Yellowjacket through each one I have so maybe they'll break in (or worse, they'll get crappier with use like the BC Hot Lips can due to the plastic lips.)

One thing these mags do have going for them is the shape / profile. They kinda remind me of a short MP5 magazine "curve-wise" and seem right at home in an SR22 (especially the smoke/black ones.) I bought a couple mainly for this reason but in the hopes that they could feed somewhat consistently and the price isn't bad (if you lurk around enough, they can be had for $30 or less.)

Ran about 500 through it today. Lots of ftf, I think the spring is too weak, or the cases are hanging up in the mag body, creating a lack of pressure on the rounds above. Most of the time, the bullet wasn't rising up into the feed lips properly, and with a tap the spring would tighten up and then it would feed. Every third or fourth would do this.

Nothing to lose now, I'm going to pull it apart and see if smoothing things out helps.

That sucks. I ended up doing the same thing with a BC Steel Lip mag brand new  (follower would hangup as if there was "no spring.") A strategic 4 ft drop on the mag's spine on a concrete floor got the halves almost perfectly separate  ; as for the issue, the mag halves were finished and glued too tight for the follower to travel back and forth.

I'm gonna experiment with gluing the halves a tiny bit further apart than before and remember not to drop any BC or SR mags ever.
