I have a Shooter's Ridge Rock Mount 9-13 swivel bipod now and I'm looking at buying another for my other gun. I'm trying to figure out if there is any difference in the Shooters Ridge and the Harris bipods?

I noticed that the Harris claim to have some sort of "buffer" springs to control the pivot but what is that supposed to be?

Is there a difference in these two bipods....I dont' see anything wrong with the Rock Mount but is Harris really better?

Oh yeah....I'm looking at the 9-13 swivel for the new one as well.

Harris 9-13 Swivel $117.63
Shooters 9-13 Swivel $88.54
(LeBaron prices)

I would highly doubt that the Harris is THAT much better in quality to justify a $29.09 difference

If it were me, and I was buying new, I would get the Shooters Ridge and put the $30 towards some ammo to go try out my new bipod :D. I personally have a Harris but I got it used in the EE but I would have gotten a Shooters had one been for sale at the time.

Wow that is a cheap price for for a pivot harris around here they go for about 150$ 120$ sounds like the fixed price. The harris ones do seem more robust but for what and how hard I use mine the shooters seem to work just fine.

I had the Shooter's Ridge Bipod: 13.5-23" Model, the pivot model from SIR. I used it mainly on my Savage model 10FPLE1A (.223) for coyote hunting. I like the height so I can sit and shoot. The Shooter's Ridge Bipod: 13.5-23" Model worked fine for about the first 6 months, then the weld that holds the base from the legs broke. I informed SIR of my situation. They were kind enough to give me a full refund. I took that money and bought a Harris Bipod: 13.5-27" Model (HB25C-S) and never looked back. Now mind you my Savage with the Choate stock is a heavy gun but after 2 years the Harris is going strong.
I like most like to save a buck, but in this case the extra money for the Harris is worth it………..

Exactly the same thing happened to my Shooters Ridge sitting/pivot bipod. I am returning it to the manufacturer, and have since acquired a Harris. (I already had a Harris 9-13" model, should have known better).
