Hey guys,
I have inspected the rifle and had a gunsmith inspect the rifle as well since it happend. I have fired 50 rounds through it and had no problems. Chamber is good, nothing has been damaged. It was a simple misunderstanding thinking 17HMR was the same as 17HM2. He was not using the mag so there was no feeding issues. My friend is fully licenced just into bigger calibers. He offered to replace the rifle if any damaged occured so I am not concered. Everything has been cleared good to go on the rifle. As soon as he told me what happend I knew exactly what went wrong. He is safe so that was my only concern, the gun is one of my cheaper rifles so its no big deal.
Edit, forgot to mention, 17HM2 chambers no problem and would look normal if you didnt look closely. Just a longer case with the 17HMR. Live and learn, last time I let a friend borrow one of my rifles. Thanks guys for the help.
