I've been doing a lot of this lately. Occasionally I shoot a group off the bench to make sure the rife is better than me. The bench groups are still 1/2 the size of the offhand ones. Anyone else shoot groups of a large number of shots? It sure keeps me honest. I'm also getting much better at being decisive about the trigger pull without jerking. I use the 100yd big black bullseye targets from CDN Tire. On a good day I drop 2-3 shots in the white out of 50. The trigger on the 13" Norinco sucks, but it's better than the one on my Ruger #1. Scope is a $100 3-9 Bushnell. BTW, I had an XT22 that shot significantly worse with the same ammo. I'm using crap ammo that shoots about 5" groups off the bench@100M, but good enough for offhand practice. I tried some CCI Standard Velocity than put 5 in 5/8"@40M, but no need for that good stuff yet considering my offhand abilities. I'm looking at a "precision" 22 later this yr, thinking of the CZ457MTR. I can't afford the components and time to reload enough centerfire to shoot enough.
