If Canadian sport shooters weren't blasting off this Czech surplus we have, who would be using it?

Is my recreational shooting saving lives over in third world countries? Accomplishing this by eventually using up ammo that would otherwise feed the AK47 of someone with no respect for life?

Someone mentioned something like this at the range and unfortunately I don't follow world events enough to know the answer or the place to find it other then asking here.

The question can otherwise be asked. Have any arms dealers delivered Czech surplus to third world countries (directly or indirectly from the Czech)?

Wow....where the F**K did that come from...recreational shooting does not save the lives of those in third world countries. Rest assured, as long as there is a demand for it, it will get into the hands of those that want it...one way or another.

In one respect...ensuring there is enough ammo to go around means we have to spend less time pouring chlorine into the gene pool...these things can take care of themselves.

There is Czech surplus ammo in warzones...and every other manufacturer of 7.62x39 that ever pumped in out. Your recreational shooting is not going to put a dent in the amount of ammo required to feed Kalashnikovs around the world.

I understand Canada's population is tiny compared to some of these places. I don't mean just my blasting of 7.26x39. I'm shooting it anyways. I'm not going to run out and buy it in the name of removing it form someone else. No way that's crazy.

Lever brought in 1million rounds recently is that going to account for nill?

To put this in perspective, Marstar, one of canada's biggest importers, John just said that Canada is 3% of there market compared to the states, And think of the problems a while ago that they had getting 7.62x39, And in some african country if any dude has the money he can get his hand on a million rounds if he feels like it. We are a fraction of a fraction of the world market.

The reason I'm asking this is if at the range someone was to say, "We are saving lives by putting holes in paper." I'd like to know if it is total horse-#### or not. It has been said to me.

Charities get a tax credit. If it could be proven that it is saving lives maybe we could be entitled to a tax credit lol jk

I think this discussion should be one of those life altering moments where you stop smoking whatever it is that you are smoking...seriously dude.:D

Now, let's not be too harsh here... This may just be the angle to aid me in getting another pallet of x39 by the wife. ;)

Won't somebody think of the children!!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that there's not some militia men out there cursing the Canadian sportsman for taking all his ammo as he loads his last full mag into his AK. For every thousand rounds of this ammo that gets into Canada, Im sure there's another billion in random arms cashes throughout third world war zones.

I think I read somewhere that US civilians by themsevles buy 8 billion rounds of ammo annually. Then there's the rest of the civilian world and military.

I'd hate to see how hot your barrel would get trying to put a dent in that.

It's total horse s**t.
Unless you apply your hole punching abilities to 'holes-in-the-bad guy' for the police or CF.
