Shooting 7.62x39 to save lives?

surplus

If it wasn't for big wars and little wars, you wouldn't be buying surplus guns, ammo and equipment! When armies rotate ammo, arms, and equipment, it goes to the surplus market or military aid programs. ie m14's and m16's sent to israel, jordan, columbia etc.
Since most of the rifles are select fire, the civilan market doesn't get them except as parts kits to make up semi-auto versions.
Canadian companies don't make guns on a large scale to take advantage of these kits and the government is very helpful when someone wants to do it.The registration system is not as easy to use as it was before. One could make guns from parts and register them without to many problems in the past.
Pistols, ammo and accessories are all you get. And everyone is after that. So sometimes dealers are lucky to get it for canada. Since America is so hard to deal with, we don't get our usual allociation of surplus through them anymore.

The original poster's line of thinking means he thinks that the presence of ammo and will cause violence. And suddenly if their guns ran out of ammo they would start hugging and sip tea under a rainbow surrounded by unicorns.

You realize you have not yet gotten rid of the socialist brainwashing that occurs in Canada?

:slap:

There are unhappy people elsewhere settling conflicts violently. It has happened long since before humans started using bones as clubs and will happen when we have laser pistols. Not something object control will fix.

If Canadian sport shooters weren't blasting off this Czech surplus we have, who would be using it?

Is my recreational shooting saving lives over in third world countries? Accomplishing this by eventually using up ammo that would otherwise feed the AK47 of someone with no respect for life?

This is too funny ... lol
I think we should promote this because there are tons of old ladies and dumb ass politicians that just might believe this .... I love it :D

right

we cannot save life in other country by shooting some surplus ammo. If Canadaian want safe life in other country just stop sending the troup to Iraq and Afghanistan.

I'm more than happy to save lives overseas by shooting surplus ammo. As a matter of fact, I think the UN should supply it to me so I can contribute in a meaningful manner to a happier, shinier world.

I,m not sure however I have noticed a steady yet small increase in cost for ammo in 7.62 and 5.56 so there is elevated demand for sure but countries that can afford to supply there military can afford ammunition for there guns

the soviets alone estimate they have prouduced over 15 billion round of 7.62x39 and that is just a guess. our bit of shooting wont save anyone. i just want a deal on a small bit of that 15 billion...lolol

SigWig,

There is some poor African who just expended his last round of 7.62x39 and unable to protect his family from the advancing machete-wielding mob, all because of YOU!

Congratulations.

Demand and Supply. That is all. Eventually surplus will rise in cost. As for Russian Surplus. 15 billion made, but they do destroy it after set time, not like Chech . This is why you do not see it on the market, plus you need major "connections" and export permit from ROSOBORON to bring it to Canada and it is impossible to get.

I understand Canada's population is tiny compared to some of these places. I don't mean just my blasting of 7.26x39. I'm shooting it anyways. I'm not going to run out and buy it in the name of removing it form someone else. No way that's crazy.

Lever brought in 1million rounds recently is that going to account for nill?
thats about 1-2days of small arms fire in the 3rd world.
I,m guessing you have never been out side of canada/US.
Half of the world is in conflict right now.
