Shooting a Cougar? Legal?

The question in the first post was: "Any legal repercussions to be had?" The answer to this is still: yes, there may be.
I have no problem whatsoever with the shooting of any animal that get's too close to humans and shows no fear of them. This is especially true of predators such as cougars, bears, etc... I will protect my family, myself, and any other humans that might be in danger. If this means a cougar has to die, so be it. As in any defensive shooting situation you better be able to articulate why you shot the animal and how you felt in regards to your personal safety at the time. This must be supported by the animal's proximity at the time of the shooting, as well as how you describe the behabiour of the animal and your fear of grievious bodily arm or death.

I sure as hell wouldn't ponder it to the Nth degree out in the bush like a tree hugger would. Instinct says pull the fcukin' trigger now.
End of story.
 
Okay guys, That seems to pretty much settle it up.

I of course wouldn't allow Mr/Ms cougar to chow down on my leg while I sit warmy in the notion that I'm heliping nature. .303 British coming your way kitty kat.

Survival comes paramount.
