Hi, you guys shooting those distances with target (low vel) ammo, do you use canted mounts?
I have (since a week) an Anschutz Match 54 HB target rifle, very accurate!
The thing is, with the Bushnell 4200 8-32x40mm installed in 2 pces Hawke Match mounts , when I zero at 50y, I only have 4 in. left on the vertical adjustements. That would put me on paper up to a max of about 100y.
I know those scopes don't have lots of adj. range, but what could I use as mounts to put me on the bull at 25y and still have lots of 'come-up' left?

Thanks.

I have always set my "bullseye" at 100 yards. I shoot a Mossberg 144lsb bull barrel (27 inch) with Winchester bulk ammo. Not every time a hit on gophers at 200 but enough to make me very happy.Tasco 6-24 scope.

Will those bases take standard weaver style rings? If so, you could buy Burris Custom Signature Zee rings and use the plastic inserts to add elevation so you scope starts out near the bottom of elevation adjustment. I have a Bushnell tactical scope on my 22, but can't dial in enough elevation for 300 yards. 200 is maxed out. After that, I'd be using one of the lower mildots.

Thanks Kombayotch, I've wrote them inquiring if they ship to Canada.

The mounts I'm using are just standard 22 dovetail rings, so No, I can't use Burris rings with inserts as is.
Also, from Burris web site, their own 22 rings aren't fitting the Anschutz dovetail.
I'll try switching the front and rear ring this afternoon to see if the rings aren't machined equal. If I'm still at/near max elevation at 50y, I'll try anoth scope. Maybe my bushnell isn't right. And yes, having a range of 20 moa on a scope is crap.

We shoot Silhouette animals at 200 metres using .22lr target rifles ( Anschutz, BSA Internationals, CZs and BRNO. Two of us use Anschutz rifles fitted with Burris Signature 22 dovetailrings with the plastic inserts. Yes they do fit and work very well. I use a Supermatch with a B&L 36X and have ample vertical adjustment due to using the +20 -20 inserts. The +20 goes in the bottom of the rear ring and the -20 in the bottom of the front ring. The only thing you have to check is the clearance of the flat part of the ring dovetail where it sits on the radius of the receiver. I had to relieve mine slightly as it was touching and preventing the ring from sitting `true` on the rifle. Until I discovered these rings, I used to machine up tapered rails to obtain the necessary adjustment to shoot at this range. The scope will still adjust back for shooting at 100 yards so it`s a win win situation.!! Tony

Well, some development:
When switching the rings, I noticed one of them has a pointed set screw which was protruding a bit under it (of course it had to be the front one), I turned the srew back up, then switched side.
I re-adjusted the scope at 50y with 1050fps ammo, the scope isn't in the middle of it's travel, but close. My scope has a total of 20moa of vertical adjustement, so that's only 10moa each side of the middle. When adjusted, I now have 8moa left, which isn't bad, but the thing is, 8 moa at 50y is only 4 inches. So that still leaves me with a 100y max setup.
Instead of messing with canted mounts, I'll try to get a scope with more travel but with parallax adjustement that go down to 15y, any suggestions?
