Shooting ducks on the water? :)

I love road trips... seeing what is around the next corner, or over the next hill... but I also fall asleep at the wheel... totalled three vehicles back in the early eighties... I have been more diligent since then...

Sounds like you should get checked for sleep Apnea Hoyt. Same thing was starting to happen to me. I went for a sleep test and was diagnosed with sleep Apnea. Now I sleep with a breathing machine and it has made such a huge difference it is incredible! There is no more nodding off at the wheel or during the day. You don't realize how off your system truly is until its put back on track.

I have a three word solution for you Hoyt......................books on tape............

I should try that on longer trips...

When heading out for a hunt, I am all jacked up, rarin' to go... it's the trip home that is more dangerous... hunting hard for a couple weeks, the fresh air, physical strain and less sleep, make the warm vehicle a pretty cozy place for a nap... unfortunately I have taken that nap while travelling 100 KPH...

Been there, done that... diagnosed with SA also... the machine works when I can keep it on, but I still tear off the mask after 15 minutes or so... feel like I am choking... I haven't tried it again for the past couple years... I should work on that though... they almost pulled my drivers licence after testing... I might not have gone in if I had known that was a possibility.

Getting tired at the wheel sucks.
I can usually go a long ways, but when the eyebawl covers get heavy, I
stop and check things on the rig I'm pulling.
Then climb aboard and leave the window down.
Cold air blasting the side of the face usually stiffens the eyes open.
Plus, I drive in an exciting fashion.

Lol, we have a guy at camp with one of those Darth Vader setups...... Had to set up an inverter and battery off of the generator so he could run his mask at night...

He's a heat freak as well.... sleeps on the couch in front of the woodstove with the sleeping bag pulled over his head.... like a cocoon with a hose sticking out the top....

I did that one time... was falling asleep, stopped, got out and ran around the car a few times... got back in, and two minutes later I was flipping end for end off a fifty foot cliff, while Eddy Grant played "I don't wanna dance" on the radio.

Please send your itineraries. I don't want to share the road at the same time as you and Looky!! Laugh2Laugh2

I did the same...and was also diagnosed with sleep apnea. Now I sleep with the CPAP machine as well. It was a bit hard at first, but I quickly got used to it

I don't see enough ducks when I do go to give them a sporting chance if they are in range they are going to get a load of steel shot.
